Ever been deep in a zone while coding a script to interact with Google’s Gemini API, only to have everything grind to a halt because of a massive, ugly error message. You check the log, and there it is: type.googleapis.com/assistant.boq.bard.application.BardErrorInfo. It looks like alphabet soup mixed with a web address, and it’s enough to make anyone want to close their laptop and walk away.

The servers at Google still use the internal code name "BOQ Bard" for the web application infrastructure. When you see assistant.boq.bard.application.BardErrorInfo, you are looking at a raw error payload sent back by Google’s internal systems.
Usually, this error pops up when you are using community-built wrappers or custom Python scripts to connect to Gemini via web scraping or unofficial APIs. When your script sends a request that the server doesn’t know how to handle, it throws this specific error code inside a nested array of data.
The number one reason this error happens in 2026 is a conflict in the chat history session metadata. If you are trying to resume an old conversation using a saved session ID, the API expects everything to match up perfectly with how that conversation started.
